Two Smartphone Series Revealed
Dreame introduced two distinct phone series at its launch event. The first targets photography enthusiasts with an innovative detachable camera module. This module houses a 1" sensor and connects via Wi-Fi for remote operation. The design reminds us of Sony's lens-style cameras from years past. However, Dreame's approach differs because the module works completely wirelessly. This gives photographers more freedom when framing shots. It also opens possibilities for shooting A and B roll footage using just one phone.

The second series is the Dreame Aurora luxury lineup. These phones feature genuine jewels, gold inlays, and hand-crafted elements using traditional techniques. Prices range from CNY 70,000 to CNY 100,000, which converts to roughly $10,000 to $15,000. The cost depends on the precious materials used and the amount of hand-crafted detailing.
One particularly eye-catching model includes an actual mechanical clock on the back panel. This design choice rivals luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin's previous phone attempts. The company plans to offer many different design variations, each showcasing unique combinations of premium materials and artisanal craftsmanship.

Chixiao 01 AI Chip
Dreame also developed its own AI chip called the Chixiao 01. The company claims this processor delivers 200 TOPS of computing power. For comparison, Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite offers 80 TOPS. This custom chip will power both the luxury Aurora series and the camera-focused phone lineup. Building an in-house processor shows Dreame's serious commitment to the smartphone business. It also suggests the company wants to control key hardware components rather than rely entirely on third-party suppliers.
