HMD has officially entered the wearable market with the launch of two new smartwatches, the Watch X1 and the Watch P1, alongside a comprehensive lineup of six TWS earbuds under the Dub series. This expansion signals the brand's move beyond mobile phones into a broader ecosystem of personal technology.
HMD Watch X1 and Watch P1 Features
The premium HMD Watch X1 features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 446x446 pixels and a peak brightness of 600 nits. This model supports Always On Display (AOD) and includes various animated watch faces. In contrast, the Watch P1 offers a larger but more affordable 1.83-inch LCD screen with 240x284 resolution and 550 nits of brightness.
Both devices run on a specialized real-time operating system (RTOS) and connect via the HMD Watch App for modern smartphones. While the X1 boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust protection, the P1 carries an IP67 rating. Both models include built-in features for Bluetooth calling, message alerts, and music control.
Health Tracking and Battery Performance
The watches carry a suite of health sensors, including heart-rate and SpO2 monitoring. They can track over 700 different activities, providing insights into sleep quality, stress levels, and calorie expenditure. For personalization, both utilize standard 22mm straps.
Regarding endurance, the Watch X1 lasts up to 5 days on a single charge with AOD enabled, while the Watch P1 provides up to 4 days of use. Magnetic chargers are included for both models.
New Dub Series TWS Earbuds
HMD's audio lineup is led by the Dub X50 Pro, featuring Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 5.3, and up to 60 hours of total playback. The standard Dub X50 omits ANC but offers a longer battery life of up to 70 hours total.
Other models in the series include:
- Dub S60: 35 hours of playtime and Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC).
- Dub P70: Features ANC and 45 hours of battery life.
- Dub P60 and P50: Offer 30 and 25 hours of playback, respectively.
Initial pricing for the Philippines market lists the Dub X50 at approximately $30, the S60 at $28, and the P60 at $20. Official availability for other regions has not yet been confirmed.
