Honor has quietly introduced a new budget 5G smartphone in the United Arab Emirates. The Honor X6d recently appeared in retail listings with solid entry-level specs and an attractive price point. This model shares its DNA with the Honor Play 60A that launched in China late last year, though it brings a few notable improvements.

Camera Upgrade: 50MP Main Sensor

The standout upgrade on the Honor X6d is its 50MP f/2.0 main camera. This replaces the 13MP f/2.2 sensor found on the Play 60A, offering better detail capture in daylight conditions. The phone keeps a single rear camera setup that tops out at 1080p video recording at 30fps. For selfies, you get a 5MP f/2.2 front-facing camera which carries over unchanged from its Chinese counterpart.

Performance and Battery Life

Powering the device is the Dimensity 6300, a 6nm chipset from MediaTek built primarily for affordable 5G phones. It's not a powerhouse, but it handles everyday tasks and the integrated 5G modem keeps you connected on faster networks. The chip pairs with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Battery capacity sits at 5260mAh, just 40mAh shy of the Play 60A's 5300mAh cell. This difference is negligible in real-world use and likely stems from labeling variations rather than hardware changes. The phone ships with Android 15 out of the box, layered with Honor's MagicOS interface.

Display and Design

Up front, the Honor X6d sports a 6.75-inch LCD panel with 720p+ resolution. This is a standard setup for budget phones in this segment. The device supports dual SIM cards and retains the side-mounted fingerprint sensor from its sibling. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX HD support, though NFC is absent.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor X6d is currently listed at AED 509, which converts to roughly $138 or €116. Retailers are offering two color options: Midnight Black and Ocean Cyan. This pricing positions it firmly in the entry-level 5G segment where it competes with other budget offerings.

Model Number Mystery

Interestingly, GCF certification documents reveal the X6d carries model number NLA-NX1. This same identifier is also assigned to the "Honor 500 Smart," suggesting these may be regional variants of the same device. This differs from the Honor 500 series currently sold in China, which features larger 8000mAh batteries and Snapdragon processors.
