The Apple iPhone 17e has generated significant buzz over the past few weeks. Now, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has shared new details that align with earlier leaks about the company's next budget-friendly iPhone.
According to Gurman, the iPhone 17e will feature the A19 chipset. This marks an upgrade from the A18 found in the iPhone 16e. The processor should deliver better performance and efficiency for everyday tasks.
One major addition this year is MagSafe charging support. The iPhone 16e launched without this feature, forcing users to rely on standard wireless charging or Lightning cables. The inclusion of MagSafe brings the 17e in line with the rest of Apple's current lineup.
The device will also pack Apple's latest in-house connectivity chips. Gurman mentions the C1X cellular modem and N1 wireless chip. These components should improve signal strength and battery efficiency compared to previous models.
Perhaps most surprisingly, the iPhone 17 e will keep the same $599 starting price as its predecessor. This maintains Apple's position in the mid-range market while adding meaningful upgrades. Gurman suggests the launch is coming soon, with some reports pointing to a February 19 announcement.
Design-wise, don't expect major changes. The iPhone 17e will reportedly skip the Dynamic Island and stick with a familiar look similar to the 16e. This keeps costs down while delivering the core iPhone experience users expect.
