MediaTek has expanded its processor lineup with the introduction of the flagship Dimensity 9500s and the mid-range Dimensity 8500. These new entries follow the release of the Dimensity 9500 last year, building on the company's commitment to high-performance mobile computing.
The Flagship Dimensity 9500s
The Dimensity 9500s is built on a cutting-edge 3nm process and maintains an "All Big Core" architecture. It features a primary Arm Cortex-X925 Ultra core reaching speeds of 3.73GHz, supported by three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 performance cores. For visual processing, it utilizes the Immortalis-G925 GPU, offering advanced ray tracing and enhanced gaming technologies.
Photography enthusiasts can expect support for sensors up to 320MP. The integrated Imagiq image processor enables 8K 60fps video recording with Dolby Vision HDR. Display support reaches WQHD+ resolution at 180Hz. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and comprehensive satellite navigation support.
The High-Performance Dimensity 8500
The Dimensity 8500 serves the premium mid-range segment. Manufactured using a 4nm process, it also adopts an All Big Core design with eight Cortex-A725 cores clocked at 3.4GHz. Its Mali-G720 GPU provides a 25% performance boost over previous generations while reducing power consumption.
Equipped with an 8th-gen NPU, the chip is designed for large language models and AI image generation. It supports LPDDR5X RAM, 4K 60fps video, and sensors up to 320MP. Wireless standards include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
