Motorola has unveiled the Edge 70 Fusion, a mid-range smartphone that balances sleek design with solid battery life. The device measures just 7.2mm thick while maintaining a 5200mAh battery, matching its predecessor's endurance in a noticeably thinner package.

Slimmer Design Without Battery Compromise

The Edge 70 recently launched with an ultra-slim 6.0mm profile, but that came at a cost: its battery dropped to just 4800mAh from the previous generation's 5200mAh cell. The Edge 70 Fusion takes a different approach.

By trimming thickness from 8.0mm to 7.2mm, Motorola managed to keep the same battery capacity as the Edge 60 Fusion while shedding bulk. The phone weighs in at 177g, essentially unchanged from before. This proves you don't need to sacrifice endurance for a slimmer profile.

Quad-Curved OLED Panel

The display represents a significant upgrade for this generation. The Edge 70 Fusion sports a quad-curved 6.78-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1272p+ and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness peaks at an impressive 5200 nits, which actually exceeds the standard Edge 70's maximum of 4500 nits.

Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front panel from everyday scratches and accidental drops. The curved edges create a premium feel while maintaining practical ergonomics for one-handed use.

Qualcomm Power and Durability

Under the hood, Motorola switched from MediaTek to Qualcomm for this generation. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 powers the device, built on TSMC's N4 process node. The chip pairs Cortex-A720 and A520 CPU cores with an Adreno 810 GPU, delivering about 15% better performance than the previous Dimensity-powered model.

Durability is another strong point here. The phone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. While IP68 protects against submersion, IP69 ensures resistance to high-pressure water jets. It also passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade testing, making it one of the tougher mid-range options available.

Camera System and Charging

The rear camera setup includes a Pantone Validated dual module led by a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor with optical image stabilization and large 1.0µm pixels. A 13MP ultra-wide camera handles expansive shots at 120 degrees and offers macro capabilities. The front-facing selfie camera uses a 32MP sensor for detailed self-portraits and video calls.

Wired charging stays at 68W for quick top-ups throughout the day. Motorola did not include wireless charging on this model, which helps keep costs down while maintaining the slim profile.

Color options include Pantone Blue Surf, Pantone Silhouette, and Pantone Country Air, all featuring fabric-inspired finishes for the back panel that add texture and grip. Europe will receive the slimmer 7.2mm version with a 5200mAh battery, while India gets a different variant that measures 7.99mm thick but includes a larger 7000mAh battery instead.
