OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next compact flagship in China. The OnePlus 15T will arrive as the successor to the OnePlus 13T, bringing several notable upgrades including a major camera improvement.
Upgraded Periscope Camera Confirmed
OnePlus China President Li Jie recently revealed details about the phone's rear camera system on Weibo. The executive confirmed that the OnePlus 15T will feature an upgraded LUMA periscope lens. This new hardware should deliver better portrait shots and improved zoom performance compared to the previous model.
The camera specs paint a promising picture. According to recent leaks, the phone will pack a 50MP Sony Lytia 700 sensor as the primary shooter. The periscope telephoto will use a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor, which should offer solid zoom capabilities for a compact device.
Performance and Display Specs
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15T is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This processor should deliver flagship-level performance for gaming and multitasking. The phone will likely feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, maintaining the compact form factor that made the 13T popular.
Battery life appears to be another focus area. OnePlus claims the 15T will pack a larger battery without compromising the slim profile. The company also mentions improved cooling, which should help during intensive tasks.
Design and Build Quality
Despite the hardware improvements, OnePlus is keeping things sleek. The company promises a lightweight design with minimal camera bump protrusion. This is impressive given the addition of a periscope lens, which typically requires more internal space.
The OnePlus 15T launch is expected later this month in China. While the exact date remains unannounced, the steady stream of teasers suggests an official reveal is imminent. Global availability details have not been confirmed yet.
