Oppo has revealed key specifications for the upcoming Find X9 Ultra, confirming the flagship will carry a 10x periscope telephoto lens. The announcement comes just one day after the company confirmed the device's April launch timeline.

Oppo Find series product manager Zhuo Shijie shared details about the camera system on Weibo. The setup uses a custom 50MP Samsung JNL fusion sensor with an f/3.5 aperture and gimbal-level optical image stabilization. This configuration delivers 230mm (10x) native optical zoom and extends to 460mm (20x) optical-quality zoom.
The technical implementation relies on a new five-reflection prism design that compresses the optical path to just 29mm. This represents a significant reduction from the 41mm path length found in conventional L-shaped periscope systems. Oppo has also integrated triple active optical calibration and a special ND coating on the prism to improve image clarity across all zoom ranges.

The camera carries Hasselblad branding, continuing Oppo's partnership with the Swedish camera manufacturer. Shijie also published sample images comparing the Find X9 Ultra's 10x periscope output against a 10x teleconverter on another smartphone, though the competing device was not named.
Regarding availability, tipster Yogesh Brar claims the Find X9 Ultra will launch globally and in China on April 20. Sales are expected to begin during the first week of May. Oppo officially confirmed an April release window earlier this week.
The 10x periscope telephoto joins what is likely a triple or quad-camera array on the rear. Full specifications for the remaining sensors have not been disclosed, though previous Find X series devices typically include a large main sensor and an ultrawide lens alongside the telephoto hardware.
