Xiaomi's sub-brand Poco is unveiling two new smartphones today. The Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max launch event starts at 12:00pm GMT. You can watch the full reveal in the live stream embedded below.

What to Expect from the Poco X8 Pro Series

Poco has already shared key specifications for both devices. The Poco X8 Pro Max sits at the top with a 6.83-inch display and the Dimensity 9500s chipset. This is MediaTek's flagship processor built on a 3nm process.

The standard Poco X8 Pro uses a smaller 6.59-inch screen. It runs on the Dimensity 8500-Ultra instead. Both phones feature 120Hz AMOLED panels with high brightness levels for outdoor visibility.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

Battery capacity differs significantly between the two models. The Pro Max packs an 8,500mAh cell. The standard Pro makes do with 6,500mAh. Both support 100W HyperCharge for rapid top-ups.

The Max adds 27W reverse charging. This lets you power up accessories or other phones wirelessly. Poco claims both batteries maintain health after years of use thanks to smart charging algorithms.

Build Quality and Durability

Both phones carry IP68 and IP69K ratings. The IP69K certification means they can withstand high-pressure water jets. This is rare in the mid-range segment.

Construction includes metal frames and fiberglass back panels. These materials keep weight down while maintaining rigidity. Poco targets users who need durable devices without flagship pricing.

Each phone features dual 50MP rear cameras. Full camera specifications remain under wraps until the stream. Expect details on sensors, aperture sizes, and software features shortly.

The Poco X8 Pro also gets an Iron Man Edition. This follows the Poco X7 Pro Iron Man variant from last year. The special edition typically includes themed packaging, custom wallpapers, and a redesigned back panel.

Pricing and availability details will drop during the live event. Both phones target the upper mid-range market with competitive specifications.
