Samsung claimed dominance over the Latin American smartphone market in 2025. According to the latest Counterpoint Research report, the company's budget-friendly Galaxy A06 secured the top spot as the best-selling smartphone across the entire region. The device alone accounted for 7% of all smartphone sales in LATAM throughout the past year.

Samsung's Strong Performance in Top 10

Samsung's success extended beyond the Galaxy A06. The Korean manufacturer secured four positions in the top 10 best-selling devices list. The Galaxy A16, Galaxy A15, and Galaxy A56 rounded out Samsung's presence in the rankings. This consistent performance across multiple price segments demonstrates the brand's broad appeal among LATAM consumers.

The data reveals clear consumer preferences in the region. Budget smartphones under $200 continue to drive the market, with 80% of the top 10 devices being 4G-only models. Buyers prioritize affordability and value over premium features and 5G connectivity. Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina emerged as the four largest markets driving these sales figures.

Competition from Motorola and Xiaomi

Motorola maintained a strong second-place position with three devices in the top 10. The Moto G15 captured third place overall, while the Moto G05 and Moto G35 took sixth and eighth positions respectively. The brand's focus on the budget segment has clearly paid off in this price-conscious market.

Xiaomi secured three spots in the rankings as well. The Redmi 14C finished fourth, followed by the Redmi A5 in seventh place and the Redmi Note 14 4G in tenth. Chinese manufacturers continue to gain ground in emerging markets through aggressive pricing strategies.

Market Outlook for 2026

Counterpoint analysts predict rising global smartphone prices in 2026. This trend will likely extend replacement cycles and reduce overall demand across most regions including LATAM. However, the price increases could accelerate 5G adoption rates as consumers who do upgrade choose devices with future-proof connectivity.

Samsung Galaxy A06 Leads LATAM Smartphone Sales in 2025

The LATAM market's reliance on budget 4G devices presents both challenges and opportunities. While carriers and manufacturers push 5G adoption, consumers remain focused on immediate value. The region's economic conditions favor practical purchasing decisions over flagship features.
