Tecno has officially launched the Pova Curve 2 in India. This mid-range smartphone packs an impressive 8,000mAh battery while maintaining a slim 7.42mm profile. The device arrives as a follow-up to the original Pova Curve with several meaningful upgrades.
Display and Design
The Pova Curve 2 features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Tecno claims this display can hit 4,500 nits of peak brightness, making it easily readable even under direct sunlight. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen from scratches and minor drops.
The phone also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. SGS-certified drop protection adds another layer of durability. At 195 grams, it feels substantial but not overly heavy despite the massive battery inside.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor powers the Pova Curve 2. This 5G-capable chip pairs with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The original Pova Curve used a slightly more powerful Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, so this represents a small step back in raw processing power.
The 8,000mAh battery dominates the spec sheet. Tecno claims this is the slimmest phone on the market with such a large power cell. The battery supports 45W fast charging, which should help offset the long charging times typically associated with big batteries.
Cameras and Features
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth helper. For selfies, a 13MP front-facing camera sits inside a centered hole-punch cutout. These specs place the Pova Curve 2 firmly in the budget-to-mid-range category for photography.
Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, and a single speaker with Dolby Atmos support. Connectivity options cover USB Type-C, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-band Wi-Fi. The phone also includes specialized G1 signal enhancement and SE1 Wi-Fi enhancement chipsets designed to improve network stability.
Software and Availability
The Pova Curve 2 runs Android 16-based HiOS 16 out of the box. Tecno promises two major Android OS upgrades, which should keep the device current through Android 18. This commitment matches what many competitors now offer in this price segment.
Sales begin in India on February 20. The phone comes in Mystic Purple, Melting Silver, and Storm Titanium color options. Pricing starts at INR 27,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and INR 29,999 for the 8GB/256GB model.
For buyers prioritizing battery life above all else, the Pova Curve 2 offers one of the largest power cells available in a mainstream smartphone. The curved display and modern design help it stand out in a crowded market.
