Following early rumors regarding its battery capacity, new leaks have shed light on the photography capabilities and launch schedule for the Xiaomi 17 Max. This upcoming flagship is expected to push the boundaries of mobile imaging with a powerful hardware configuration.
According to reports from industry insiders, the Xiaomi 17 Max will be equipped with a 200MP Samsung HPx main sensor. This represents a significant upgrade over the 50MP sensor expected on the standard Xiaomi 17. The rear camera array will likely include a 50MP Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide lens, maintaining the high-performance imaging standards of the series.
The device is tipped to integrate Leica optics and features, aligning it with the rest of the flagship lineup. Beyond photography, the Max variant is rumored to feature the high-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a massive 8,000mAh battery. Charging capabilities are expected to be equally impressive, with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Current industry speculation points toward a launch during the second quarter (Q2) of this year. While the internal specs see a major boost, the exterior design is expected to remain consistent with the base Xiaomi 17 model.
