Xiaomi has adjusted its launch schedule for the Indian market. The company originally planned to debut the Xiaomi Pad 8 alongside the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones on March 11. That plan has changed.

New Launch Timeline

The smartphones will still arrive on March 11 as scheduled. However, the tablet now gets its own dedicated launch event on March 10, one day earlier than previously announced.

Xiaomi Pad 8 India Launch Moved to March 10

Xiaomi officials cite "overwhelmingly positive response and high demand" as the reason for this shift. While a single day may not seem significant, it does give the tablet its own spotlight rather than sharing attention with the flagship phones.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Specifications

The Pad 8 debuted in China back in September, bringing solid specs for productivity and entertainment users alike. It features an 11.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2136x3200 pixels. The screen supports a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 800 nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC handles processing duties. This chip delivers strong performance for multitasking, gaming, and content creation without draining the battery too quickly.

For photography, you get a basic but functional setup: a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter. While tablets are not primarily camera devices, these sensors handle video calls and document scanning adequately.

Battery and Charging

The battery capacity stands at a generous 9,200 mAh. This should easily power through a full day of heavy use or multiple days of lighter browsing and video watching.

Charging speeds are respectable too. The Pad 8 supports 45W wired charging for quick top-ups when needed. It also offers reverse wired charging at up to 22.5W, letting you power up accessories or even your phone in a pinch.

What This Means for Buyers

Indian consumers interested in Android tablets now have another strong option to consider. The early launch gives potential buyers more time to evaluate the Pad 8 before deciding whether to pick it up alongside or instead of the new phones.

Xiaomi has been expanding its tablet lineup aggressively across different price segments. The Pad 8 sits in the premium mid-range category, competing with offerings from Samsung and other Android manufacturers.
